About Me
Born in Fujian, China and raised in Singapore, Keith Chen is a musician and coder. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree of Music in Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. As a pianist and guitarist, Keith is fluent in classical, jazz, and film music. At Berklee, he has studied with esteemed musicians including Yoko Miwa, Ayn Inserto, Jeanine Cowen, Tim Huling, and Sean McMahon in multiple areas of music. He appears with bands and solo artists in performances and recording sessions in Boston.
As a musician, Keith is inspired by a vast array of musical influences, impacting his writing in different disciplines. They include classical composers such as Chopin, Bach, Rachmaninoff, jazz musicians such as Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, and Gordon Goodwin, as well as film composers such as John Williams and Alexandre Desplat.
In his spare time, he also pursues programming. He writes JavaScript on both the frontend and backend to create user-friendly web applications. As a JavaScript developer, he enjoys technologies such as Vue.js and Node.js. He also works as Video Game Scoring Assistant, using technologies such as Unity, C#, and Wwise to help improve the Video Game Scoring curriculum at Berklee.
Keith is passionate about combining his multi-disciplinary interests in music, media, and technology and creating rich experiences.
